Tunnel initiatives postponed due to COVID-19
Over the last weeks, COVID-19 “Coronavirus” has become a global topic of concern and the organizing committees in all international tunnel initiatives the next months has decided to postpone the events, after carefully monitoring the situation.

The World Tunnelling Congress (WTC 2020), The 6th European Tunnel Safety Officers Forum (TSO Forum 2020), the 9th International Symposium on Tunnel Safety and Security (ISTSS 2020) and the 10th International Conference on Tunnel Safety and Ventilation, are examples of such initiatives. The ACUUS 2020 Helsinki Conference will also postpone the event due to the change of the WTC2020 congress date, and have a new date in February 2021. 

The 9th International Symposium on Tunnel Safety and Security, ISTSS 2020

RISE has decided to postpone the ISTSS 2020 11-13th of March in Munich based on the latest assessment of the coronavirus.

We are aware that this decision will require registered guests and exhibitors to re-schedule their attendance. We hope that, given the current situation, you will understand our decision and that we will meet again under more safe and stable conditions.

The 6th European Tunnel Safety Officers Forum in Prague, TSO Forum 2020

ITA COSUF and the organizing team have decided to postpone the 6th TSO Forum until the situation has become more stable.

The 10th International Conference on Tunnel Safety and Ventilation

It is with deep regret that we are informing you of the postponement of the 10th International Conference "Tunnel Safety & Ventilation". The decision to postpone the conference is based on the latest information and restrictions enforced by the Austrian Government (Austrian Federal Ministry of Health).

There was already a huge effort put in the preparation of the event, by the authors and of course also from our side. But we can assure you, that this effort will not be lost. Now we are looking for an alternate date - as soon as we have a solution, the new date will be posted on the web page.

World Tunnelling Congress in Malaysia, WTC 2020

First the event was moved from 15 - 21 May to 11 - 17 September, 2020. And then in July, following annoncement was made:

ITA and IEM hereby jointly announce that WTC2020 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia scheduled from 11th to 17th September 2020 will be moved to a fully digital platform due to the impacts of COVID- 19, including border restrictions and health risks associated with international travel and the assembly of large meetings.

The digital WTC2020 is currently in preparation and all sponsors, exhibitors and registrants will be notified of the format for the digital event soon by the Organizing Committee of WTC2020. A digital book of proceedings will also be made available to all registrants. The dates for the digital WTC2020 remain unchanged from 11th to 17th September 2020.

ACUUS 2020 Helsinki Conference

Due to the World Tunneling Congress WTC 2020 changing the congress date to September 11-17, we have decided to reschedule ACUUS 2020 Helsinki Conference. ACUUS 2020 Helsinki Conference will be organized on February 2-4, 2021.

We wanted to react to the overlap of these two major events as soon as possible and we hope that the change of the date does not affect to your participation to the event. We are working hard to make the ACUUS 2020 Helsinki as succesful as possible and we now invite you to experience the real Finnish winter!

The abstract reviewing process will go on as planned and the notification emails will be sent during March! We are however opening the call for papers for new submissions. Deadline for new submissions is September 1, 2020.
